Integrating Twitch authentication

This integration has two parts to it:

  • Creating Twitch App ID & App Secret in Twitch using a developer account
  • Entering Twitch App ID & App Secret in Zappter
Creating Twitch App ID & App Secret using developer accounts:
Your app URL
Ensure to have your web app URL while completing the below steps. Here is how to get your web app URL from Zappter:

  1. Log in to your admin.
  2. Open your profile menu and your web app link is the first option available under this menu. 
  3. Make a note or copy the URL.
Follow the below steps on your Twitch platform to get the App ID and App Secret.
2. Provide an application name, Authorization callback URL - FQDN/app/ and choose 'Website integration' as a category.

3. Click on manage next to newly created app.

4. Click on 'New secret' and agree with prompt.

5. Save it and copy Client ID and generated Client Secret (to enter into Zappter settings later).

Entering Twitch App ID & App Secret in Zappter:
Back in Zappter, you need to update Twitch App ID and App Secret. Below steps guide you.
1. Admin > Settings > OAuth. Move onto Twitch tab.

2. Enter the previously copied App ID and App Secret of Twitch and save the changes to complete your integration.
